Product Descriptions and Images
We aim to offer clear and concise descriptions of our products and use current up to date images.
The images displayed are used with the permission of the copyright holder.
The Costume People can not be held responsible for:-
a) Our suppliers right to change the specification, colour or design of any item, at any time without notice.
b) Your perception of colour, representation or fabric.
Some colours may be displayed differently on different PC's; the settings of your of your PC / Laptop may affect how colours are displayed. Different browsers may also affect the colour(s) of the products that you view. The colour(s) of the product you view on the screen may differ to those of the product you receive.
Sizes of Costumes
Costumes are designed and constructed to accommodate a wider variety of sizes than 'High Street' clothing. Many use stretch fabrics, elastic waistlines, and waist ties or rope belts for comfort and flexibility.
If you are in any doubt as to whether the costume you are interested in will be suitable, or if you require any more information about size, please contact us by telephone or e-mail and we will be happy to advise you.
Washing Instructions
Our costumes are made up using many different fabrics (plush fur, velvet, vinyl), and can be trimmed with metal studs and plastic pieces. Some are embellished with printed designs or motifs.
Some costumes have washing instructions attached, and may include machine washing, however our tests and experience have shown that costumes should only be DRY CLEANED.
We will not be able to remedy any faults in products that result from machine washing, regardless of any written manufactures instructions attached to the costume or included in the packaging.
Cancelling an Order
Order Cancellation - before shipping
If you wish to cancel your order before it is shipped, please contact us immediately by e-mail or telephone, we will confirm your cancellation by e-mail.
You will not be charged and all of you monies will be refunded.
Order Cancellation - after shipping
Your order may be cancelled up to 7 working days from you receiving the goods.* You must return the goods in an unopened and unused condition (please read our returns policy below).
For reasons of hygiene we will not accept the return of the following goods: -
Wigs, Tights, Stockings, Underwear.
We cannot accept the return of the following: any goods made to your specification, any goods customised to your specification.
We are happy to accept the return of unwanted items after 7 days and up to 30 calendar days after date of delivery. We will offer you a refund of 70% value of the goods, or a credit note for 100% of the value of the goods.
We are not obliged to make any refund for good received after 30 calendar days.
You are responsible for any returned goods until they reach us, we recommend you get proof of posting as no refunds will be made until we are in receipt of the goods. We recommend you use Royal Mail special delivery for expensive items.
Please Note
We do not refund the cost of postage in either direction, we will only refund the cost of the returned items as they appear on your invoice. You must bare the costs of returning unwanted items to us.
Please Note
* '7 working days from you receiving the goods' shall mean the date your order shipment is received by you, the package is signed for by you.
Faulty Goods
If an item you have received is faulty, you must contact us immediately by telephone or e-mail, we will exchange or refund it for you (please read our returns policy below).
You must contact us within 7 calendar days of receipt of your order, and no later than 30 calendar days of the receipt of your order, if the fault was not apparent on first inspection.
Please note:-
a) You are responsible for the goods until they reach us. Initially, you must pay the return postage, we recommend you get proof of posting and use Royal Mail special delivery for expensive items.
b) We shall not be liable for any fault developed from fair wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, misuse or alteration.
c) We are unable to make any refund or replacement until we are in receipt of the returned goods. If you require an urgent replacement, we advise you to re-order the goods again.
RETURNS POLICY
Returning Goods
Before sending any goods back to us, you must first contact us by e-mail or telephone to get a Returns Code Number. Any item(s) received back to us without this number may have it's action delayed. You will be asked for the reason for the return, you will need to confirm your Name, Address, Telephone number and Invoice number.
Please return the goods to the address printed on the top of your invoice, please print the Returns Code Number on the outside of the package.
If the goods are unwanted, they must be returned unopened, unused and with all the original packaging and any labels attached. Goods must be in a saleable condition.
We will not accept back any goods that have been opened from sealed packages. We expect to receive the goods back in the 'new' condition you received them in, and would expect to receive them. If any of the packaging is missing or damaged we will not provide a refund.
You and your carrier are responsible for the return of any goods until they are received by us at our published address. The cost of return, any insurance and risk will be at you expense. You will need to be able to prove that you posted the goods back to us, if the goods go missing in transit you will need to claim from the carrier you used (i.e. Royal Mail). We recommend that you select the correct level of insurance for the value of goods returned. This is done at you expense and will not be refunded.
If the goods are faulty, you must include a brief description of the fault(s), make sure that everything included in the package that contained the faulty item is returned, please return all packaging as well.
You and your carrier are responsible for the return of any goods until they are received by us at our published address. The cost of return any insurance and risk will be at you expense. You will need to be able to prove that you posted the goods back to us, if the goods go missing in transit you will need to claim from the carrier you used (i.e. Royal Mail). We recommend that you select the correct level of insurance for the value of goods returned.
All returns: all items returned to us must have a return code number. Any items that are received back to us without this return code number, will be held by us, no exchange will be made, we will await your instructions. These items will be held for 90 days, should you wish us to return your goods, we can do so at your expense. We reserve the right to dispose of any items still with us after 90 days.
If goods are returned outside our Terms and Conditions, they will not be accepted for refund or exchange, and will be held 'in dispute'. We will inform you in writing of our reason for not refunding or exchanging the goods 'in dispute'. We are happy to re-ship the 'in dispute' goods back to you. We will hold such 'in dispute' goods for 91 days from receipt to us, they will then be destroyed.
